Premier League Sponsored by Spec & Fix Locking Solutions

There’s no change in positions in the Premier League sponsored by Spec & Fix Locking Solutions as all the top four teams won 5-2.

Con Club Woodhall Spa won 5-2 away at Lincoln Snooker Club E and the highlight was an excellent break of 81 by Neil Dowlman against Ant Liddle. Neil also took the other frame 65-15 against Ant for a 2-0 lead. Steve Burnett was up next and he faced Nigel Salmon for the next two frames. Steve took the first frame 61-36 but Nigel took the second frame 75-54. Nigel played his third frame of the night against new signing Rick Chester but it was the latter who won 60-42. Away team Captain Chris Taylor won both of his frames 50-28 and 54-11 against Mark Taylor.

Con Club Newark were away to Moorland & Railway A, Adam Sears sponsor of the first division, raced into a 2-0 lead defeating Nick Moon and Gary Falkinder. Rob Hall made it 3-0 with a 55-28 victory over Paul Froggatt. Tom Hutchinson won the home teams first point of the night when he won a black ball game against Rob. Tony Hicklin then made it 2-3 when he beat Matt Bavin 59-33. Matt came back strongly in the two remaining frames when he defeated Joe Hutchinson 65-37 and then Tom Hutchinson 69-6 to wrap up the 5-2 win.

Lincoln Snooker Club A entertained their D side. Matt Ransome shared the opening two frames, he took the first 62-21 against Lincoln Snooker Clubs Owner Phil Cross but lost out by seven points against Stu Cannings.  Home team Captain Daren Doughty defeated new signing Paul Bean 63-48 and Daren had a 48 break. Paul then played Gavin Whittle but just fell short losing 39-56. Matt Lee was next for the home side he played Phil, and Matt compiled a 39 break to win 80-11, Matt also won his second frame 64-37 against Stu. Stu made amends in the last frame of the night when he beat Gavin 71-25.

Lincoln Snooker Club B played stablemates Lincoln Snooker Club C. Chris Robinson put the C team one up when he won a black ball decider 58-52 against Glenn Foster, Chris had another close game but this time it went to his opponent Calum Baptist  56-40. The B team then took the next two frames which saw victories for Rick Epton who beat Simon Mower 82-24. Glenn then came from behind to beat home team Captain Lee Applewhite 52-46. Damon Sykes won his second frame of the night when he played very well to beat Dave Norman 54-12. Damon then played Calum but lost 63-25. Dave won the last frame 66-13 against Lee.

Lincoln Snooker Club F remain unbeaten after ten games, their latest result was a 4-2 away win over Castle Ward B. George Barrett shared his opening two frames, he defeated Ken Hill 60-29 but lost to Kev Cottam 46-36. Birthday boy Mark Gibbons put his side 2-1 up winning a black ball decider 48-41 against Craig Wallace. Back came the Castle Ward side when Matt Strickson had an excellent frame when he defeated Ben Rickard 44-36. Matt lost his second frame 66-26 against Mark, Ben secured victory when he defeated Kev 73-20. Despite this victory they drop a place to third.

Hykeham Social Club move into second place despite indifferent results. After last week’s disappointing 1-5 home defeat they collected maximum points away at Lincoln Snooker Club G. Steve Robinson defeated home team Captain 44-12 Leigh Blades, after this Leigh wants to see drug testing brought into the league. Dave Coutts made it 2-0 with a 39-16 win over Andy Nicoll. Gary Beardsley won his two frames 58-31 against Matt Todd and a 42-20 win over Ray Reid. Dan May also won his two frames 53-23 against Tom Boyle and a 49-38 win over Matt.

Castle Ward A also collected maximum points away at a struggling Lincoln Snooker Academy B side. Adrian Bunn won his two frames and other victories were gained from Rob Reeves, Tim Dunn, Adam Petty and Scott Gratrick to complete the win.

Castle Ward C remain league leaders after a 4-2 home win over the other Academy Side. Martin Key remains unbeaten after his two latest scores. Martin beat Daniel Shearman 62-33 and the Oli May 61-24. Craig Starbuck beat Oli Bagnall in a close game 60-52 but lost 55-33 against James Lilley. Graham Smith also shared his two frames, firstly he beat Daniel 61-43 and Oli Bishell won a black ball game 45-39.

The two remaining matches were 3-3 draws. Moorlands & Railway B drew with the Cube & Triangle. Moorlands winners were Josh Weaver, Nathan Shasby on the black against Glynn Ayres and Liam Shasby beat Karl Clayton 64-42. Cube & Triangles points came from Karl and Graham Chambers won his two frames against Jon Rice and Josh.

Hykeham Social Club B Entertained Moorlands & Railway C, Dave Croft and Chris Ellis put Hykeham into a 2-0 lead. Scott Simpson and Ian Baker hit back to level the score, Scott beat Michael Morrison 53-20 and Ian won a black ball game 51-44 against Darren Edwards. Michael put Hykeham back in front when he defeated Andy Riggall 69-31 with the help of a 36 break. Scott levelled the match score when he just got the better of Chris 42-36.
