Woodhall Spa Con Club recorded their second 6-1 win of the season and head the Premier League by two points. Their latest victory was at home to Lincoln Snooker Club C, Jamie Turner with a break of 43 took the opening frame 80-8 against Stu Cannings and in his second frame Jamie defeated Phil Cross 63-44. Marc Pickworth increased his sides lead to 4-0 when he beat Justin Hunt and Gary Falkinder. Dan Burt played the three remaining frames, in his first frame he beat Phil 68-34 for a 5-0 lead. The Snooker Clubs only point of the night came when Justin beat Dan 56-8 and finally Dan beat Stu 78-16. Second placed Lincoln Snooker Club A also won 6-1, they were away to their B side. Daren Doughty defeated Rick Epton 2-0 which was quickly followed by Matt Ransome defeating Glenn Foster 79-31 and 87-1 with Matt having a break of 64. Calum Baptist pulled a frame back when he beat Jamie Barker 65-43 with the help of a 35 break. Jamie replied winning the sixth frame 49-27 and then wrapping the night up with 72-31 win. Newark Con Club was the other winners on the night when they were away to Lincoln Snooker Club D. Adam Sears played his good friend Simon Mower, its always difficult when playing players who you know really well, you tend to find that they know each other’s games really well. Adam finally won the frame 86-52 to put the Con Club one up. The home side hit back and took the next two frames George Barrett had an excellent result defeating Adam 79-38 and Chris Robinson also playing well to defeat Dave Jobling 63-24 with a break of 38. Dave then played Ben Rickards and the frame eventually went to Dave winning a black ball game 56-49. Away team Captain Rob Hall then took over winning the three remaining frames, Rob defeated George 67-16 and then he beat Ben 60-42. The final frame of the night saw Rob compile a break of 54 in his 77-17 win over Chris.
Lincoln Security Snooker League 1
Castle Ward A recorded a brilliant 5-1 home win over last seasons runners-up. The reliable Adrian Bunn won the opening frame when he defeated Steve Robinson 56-15. The Steady Dave Coutts made it 1-1 with a 76-43 victory over Rob Reeves which turned out to be Hykeham only point of the night. Tim Dunn restored his teams lead defeating Rob Chapman 48-33. Adrian made it two wins from two, just getting the better of Gary Beardsley 55-40. Rob Reeves returned to the table and made amends for his earlier defeat when he played well to beat Dan May 54-32. The final frame could of gone either way and with Gary leading Tim 48-44 and just the black remaining, it was Tim who took the frame 51-48. Lincoln Snooker Club E also won 5-1 at home to Castle Ward B. Steve Burnett started off in good form and soon wrapped up the first two frames making a 35 break in the process, firstly defeating Ken Hill 70-22 with a 35 break and then with a 63-12 win over Craig Wallace. Matt Strickson was Castle Wards only winner on the night when he defeated Mark Taylor on the black ball despite a break of 25 from Mark. Mark then faced Ken Hill and extended his teams lead with a 55-34 victory. Andy Gill wrapped the night up with two victories, firstly defeating Craig 55-21 and then he beat Matt 65-38 to complete the 5-1 win. Lincoln Snooker Club F were away to Hykeham B and came away with a 4-2 win. Paul Bean opened the scoring with a 52-15 win over Darren Edwards. Hykeham hit back and went into a 2-1 lead, firstly Tristan Fussey beat Edward Taylor 68-36, Edward compiling a break of 28 which was followed by Michael Morrison defeating Nick McCauley 52-20. James Durance, Brian Lawson and Matt Todd hitting a 0 break completing the scoring.
George Barrett Snooker League 2
After the opening two matches Moorlands & Railway A and Lincoln Snooker Academy are top of the George Barrett Division two table, both on nine points. The Academy side won 5-1 away at Lincoln Snooker Club H. The points were shared by Daniel Sherman, Oli Bishell, Oli Bagnall, Jayden Hunt and Jacob Moura with Tom Cutten replying for the Snooker Club side.
Moorlands & Railway A were away to the Cube & Triangle, the away side didn’t hang about and soon raced into a 3-0 lead which saw victories for Josh Weaver, John Rice and Liam Shasby. Karl and Gary Chambers stopped the rot and took the next two frames, Karl defeated Josh 53-33 and Gary defeated John 44-29. The final frame of the night went to Liam who beat Marley 63-41.
Lincoln Snooker Club G were away to Moorlands & Railway B and came away with a 4-2 win. Olli Schmitt put the away side one up when he defeated Duncan MacDonald 59-39 and Josh Hackney made it two when he came from behind to beat Andy Campbell on the black 44-43. Scott Simpson pulled a frame back for the Newark Road based side when he just got the better of Jazz Bailey 39-30. The reliable Ian Baker levelled the match at 2-2 when he beat Scott Simpson 61-21. Joe Jackson and Josh Hackney took the two remaining frames to complete the victory for the away side.
