The top match in the Premier Snooker League this week was between the two Cons, Woodhall Spa and Newark. With only a couple of points between them it was Woodhall Spa who took the initiative when Neil Dowlman took the opening frame 64-25 against Adam Sears, Neil with a break of 31. Adam levelled the scores when he came from behind to level the scores with a black ball decider 57-54. Kieran Richards-Witham restored Woodhall Spa’s lead when he defeated Adam 74-41. Matt Bavin put the away side in front for the first time when he recorded victories over Nigel Salmon and Neil. The last two frames were between good friends Rob Hall and Chris Taylor, Chris took the first frame when he came from behind to pip Rob 64-63, Chris with a 37 break. The last frame of the night was another close game and with Chris leading 43-19 with a 34 break only for Rob to have a 33 clearance and seal a 4-3 away win.
Lincoln Snooker Club E recorded their third win of the season at the expense of their C team. Justin Hunt and Phil Cross raced into a 2-0 lead when they beat Simon Mower and Chris Robinson respectively. Lee Applewhite pulled one frame back he beat Stu Cannings 52-39. Phil restored the two-frame lead when he played well to beat Simon 90-44 only to see Lee win his second frame of the night, winning 70-35 against Stu Cannings. Justin Hunt then won the two remaining frames against Chris and Lee.
Lincoln Snooker Club B won 6-1 away against Lincoln Snooker Club E, Calum Baptist didn’t waste much time putting his side 2-0 up with 67-17 and 59-41 against Paul Argyle. Mark Taylor for the home side shared his two frames, Mark beat Glenn Foster 72-52 but lost to Rick Epton 53-39. Glenn then beat Paul 67-24 and with a player short the E team had to concede two points.
Lincoln Snooker Club A collected Maximum points away at Moorlands & Railway A, Matt Ransome took the first two frames defeating Sean Falkinder and Nick Moon 53-22 and 48-36. Jamie Barker then made it 4-0 with wins over Gary Falkinder and Paul Froggatt 66-48 and 61-20. Matt played his third frame of the night when he Sean 63-18. Away team Captain Daren Doughty was in good form with a break of 44 in the his first frame against Gary winning 64-38 and a 40 break against Paul to win 71-29 to completed the victory.

Castle Ward C are the new leaders of the 1st Division after a 4-2 home win over Cube & Triangle. Tristan Fussey started the ball rolling with a comfortable 58-12 win over Karl Clayton. Martin Key made it 2-0 when he defeated Dan Chambers 66-2. Gary Chambers put the Cube & Triangles first point on the board when he beat Graham Smith 72-38. Tristan and Martin played Karl and Dan again, and the results were the same. Tristan winning 59-43 and Martin winning 50-15. The final frame saw Gary defeat Craig Starbuck on the black 45-43.
Hykeham A suffered another 5-1 defeat, this time against their B team. Michael Morrison played well all night with a break of 31 in his first frame win over Steve Robinson and a break of 38 in a 65-22 win over Dan May. Sandwiched in-between Michaels two wins saw victories for Dave Croft 65-22 against Dave Coutts and Darren Edwards with a 51-13 win against Rob Chapman. Darren made it 5-0 when he defeated Steve Robinson 39-27. The A teams only point of the night saw Dan May win 53-28 against Dave Croft. Despite this defeat they are in second place.
Lincoln Snooker Club F are the only unbeaten side in the two leagues. They beat Moorlands & Railway C 4-2. Andy Campbell shared the opening two frames in the first frame of the night Andy defeated George Barratt 65-45 and then lost to Mark Handford 62-23. Scott Simpson for the Moorlands also shared his two frames, Scott defeated George 82-56 and then lost to Mark 52-22. Ben Rickards made sure of a victory to the home side, Ben with a break of 38 defeated Andy Riggall 74-21 and then beat David Hayes 50-8. Despite being unbeaten in the opening eight matches they are in third place just two points behind.
The two Lincoln Academy sides were beaten 4-2 the A side lost away to Castle Ward A, Scott Gratrick, Tim Dunn won both of his two frames and Rob Reeves won a black Ball game against Oli Bishell. Oli Bagnall and James Lilley for the Academy A side. The Academy B team were away to the Castle Ward Team, the B side. Castle Ward soon raced into a 3-0 lead which saw victories for Kev Cottam, Ken Hill and Matt Strickson. Paul Miller won 65-34 against Craig Wallace Only to see Kev win his second frame of the night 84-16 against Michele D’Acoli. Joe Jackson earned the young sides second point of the night with a 43-31 win over Ken.
Moorlands & Railway B won 4-2 away at Lincoln Snooker Club G. Trev Porter put the away side one up when he defeated Andy Nichol 71-59. Leigh Blades the home team captain squared the match when he got the better of Nathan Shasby. Leam Shasby made it 1-2 when he won a black ball game 45-41 against Matt Todd. Trev won his second frame of the night 44-34 against Tom Boyle. Tom won the fifth frame of the night 48-32 against Nathan. Leam won the final frame of the night 62-21 against Matt.
