Spec & Fix Snooker Premier League The top of the Spec & Fix Premier Snooker League is all square between Lincoln Snooker Club A and Woodhall Spa Con Club and Newark Con Club A are just three points behind. Lincoln Snooker Club A entertained Newark Con Club A, the match was close and the lead exchanged frame by frame. Dale Schofield put Newark one up when he played well to defeat Daren Doughty 57-8. Matt Ransome and Adam Sears squared up against each other and the score was very similar to the first frame but the winner was Matt taking the frame 56-8 for a 1-1 score-line. Dale put Newark back in front continuing his good form with 51-19 victory over Gav Whittle. Jamie Barker was up next for the home side defeating Adam 59-35, Jamie then played Matt Bavin in the fifth frame and it was a close encounter and the frame went to Matt who won a black ball frame 59-52. The two Matts, Lee and Bavin played the final two frames and it was the Lincoln Snooker Club player, Matt Lee who won them both 61-28 and 68-38 for a 4-3 win. Woodhall Spa were at home to Lincoln Snooker Club D and came away with a 6-1 victory. Neil Dowlman and Mark Handford fought out the first two frames, Neil took the first frame 78-46 despite a break of 37 from Mark, the second frame also went to Mark 51-15. Woodhall’s Dan Burt and Chris Robinson played out the next three frames, Dan took the first 59-30 and Chris took the next frame and he came from behind to win on the black 68-63. In their third frame Dan compiled a break of 62 in his 81-18 win. Jamie Turner for the home side faced Ben Rickards in the final two frames, Jamie with a 38 break in their first frame won 75-8 and the final frame saw Jamie take that 53-11 to complete the victory. The remaining match in the Premier League was between the two Lincoln Snooker Club sides, the C team and the B team. The C team are propping the rest of the teams up but are only three points behind the D team, however they have won one more match than the D team. Lincoln Snooker Club B didn’t stand about and they raced into a 5-0 lead, Rick Epton started the ball rolling with 83-34 win over James Lilley. Glenn Foster won both of his frames, firstly defeating Justin Hunt 68-43 then beating Stu Cannings 65-9. Calum Baptist made it 4-0 when he beat Lee Applewhite 57-9 and then Calum beat Gary Falkinder 67-25. The final two frames went to the C team when Justin beat Hugo Tomas 70-43 and in the last frame Stu beat Hugo 63-30. Lincoln Snooker Club A 9 wins and 52 points. Woodhall Spa Con Club 8 wins and 52 points. Newark Con Club 8 wins and 39 points. Lincoln Snooker Club B 5 wins and 35 points. Lincoln Snooker Club D 1 win and 23 points Lincoln Snooker Club C 2 wins and 20 points.

Lincoln Security Snooker League 1 It was top versus bottom in the Lincoln Security Snooker League 1, Lincoln Snooker Club F and Castle Ward B. Wayne Bean was up first and with a break of 26 he took the frame 60-21 against Ken Hill. It was a similar story in the next frame with Brian Lawson defeating Craig Wallace 62-24. James Durance made it 3-0 to the league leaders when he beat Kev Cottam 53-13. The fourth frame was a bit closer between Nick McCauley and Jack McGovern and it was Nick who took the frame 53-45. Wayne played his second frame on the night and continued his good form with a 43-18 win over Matt Strickson. The final frame saw Matt Todd defeat Ken 56-35 to complete a 6-0 whitewash. Castle Ward A and Lincoln Snooker Club E have identical records 5 wins each drawn four and 37 points after they played each other. Adie Bunn opened the scoring for the Kingsley Street based side when he beat Anthony Liddell 51-15. Anthony remained and the table and faired better in his second frame defeating Adam Petty 78-19. Rob Reeves put the Ward back in front when he played very well to beat Andy Gill 63-23. Scott Gratrick extended his sides lead to 3-1 with the help of a 25 break in his 47-28 win over Andy. Adie played his second frame against Mark Taylor and Mark played some good snooker to win 76-11 to reduce the arrears. The final frame saw Rob play his second frame and continued his good form with a 57-40 win over Mark for a 4-2 score-line. The two Hykeham Sides played each other in the final frame of the night, League Secretary Tristan Fussey put the B team one up when he just got the better of Matt May 64-55. The A side hit back and took the next three frames, firstly Rob Chapman defeated Darren Edwards 55-10 which was followed by a close frame between Gary Beardsley and Dave Croft which Gary took 49-40. Matt returned to play Tristan in the fourth frame and Matt reversed the score from the first frame winning 66-26 for a 3-1 lead. The two Dave’s, Coutts and Croft played out the fifth frame and the winner was Dave Croft winning 52-24. The final frame saw Darren defeat Dan May 50-28 to earn a share of the spoils. Lincoln Snooker Club F 7 wins and 43 points. Lincoln Snooker Club E 5 wins and 37 points. Castle Ward A 5 wins and 37 points. Hykeham B 3 wins and 32 points. Hykeham A 4 wins and 30 points. Castle Ward B 1 win and 19 points.

George Barrett Snooker League Still nothing to choose at the top of the George Barrett Snooker League 2, just two points still separate the top two teams and five points separate the rest of the teams. The Academy side were at home to The Cube & Triangle and collected four points. Gary Chambers put the away side one up when he defeated Jacob Louca 69-29. This was quickly followed by four wins in a row, Jayden Hunt won 58-22 against Glyn Ayris and Daniel Sherman played two successive frames firstly beating Jack Belton 54-18 and a 62-22 win against Marley Clayton. Brandon Staples also played two frames and he made it 4-1 when he defeated Karl Clayton 63-39 but Brandon lost the final frame of the night 57-15 against Gary. Moorlands & Railway A are keeping the pressure on the young Academy side, they entertained their B side and they also won 4-2. Josh Weaver and Trev Porter put the A side 2-0 up, Josh beating Kev Betts 57-34 and Trev Porter defeated Andy Campbell 54-23. The third frame could have gone either way, it was a black ball frame between Nathan Shasby of the A and Scott Simpson for the B team, but it went in the way of Scott winning 49-44. Liam Shasby was in excellent form winning 65-0 against David Hayes, who was making only his second appearance of the season. John Rice made it 4-1 defeating Andy Riggall 58-45. The final frame also could of gone either way with another black ball frame which went to Duncan MacDonald of the B side defeating Josh 48-40. The two Lincoln Snooker Club teams played each other in the remaining match, The H team have a two-point lead over their stablemates the G team. The G team were the home side and they took the opening two frames. Olli Schmidt opened the scoring when he defeated Dave Poucher 42-23 and Josh Weaver played George Lorenti and won 66-28. The H team hit back and soon levelled the scores at 2-2 which saw victories for Jim Byrne and Tom Boyle, Jim won 47-33 against Michael Stacey and Tom defeated Ollie 38-22. Josh made it two wins from two on the night when he continued his good form defeating Tom Cutten 48-5. The final frame of the night was a close affair but the eventual winner was Ray Reid when he won on the black 52-46 against Michael to earn a share of the spoils. Lincoln Snooker Academy 9 wins and 46 points. Moorlands & Railway A 7 wins and 44 points. Lincoln Snooker Club H 3 wins and 29 points. Moorlands & Railway B 4 wins and 28 points. Lincoln Snooker Club G 2 wins and 27 points. Cube & Triangle 2 wins and 24 points.

Billiards League Its good to see the Billiards back up and running, Castle Ward A started the season off with a 2-0 win over newcomers to the game Lincoln Snooker Club B. It was also a welcome return for Nick Haywood, its been some time since he last played. Nick’s handicap was -70 and faced Leigh Blades, this was Leigh’s first league match at Billiards and if all the in offs he gets at snooker are transferred to Billiards then he should do well. Nick beat Leigh 200-181. Dean Manders played young Jayden Hunt and with two breaks of 47 and a 41 Dean ran out the winner 200-140. The two Hykeham teams met in the opening match and both frames were close, Tristan Fussey defeated Steve Robinson 200-187 and Dave Coutts played Chris Ellis and the match couldn’t of been much closer with Dave winning 200-199.
