Newark Con Club faced a tricky away match at Woodhall Spa, Dan Burt put the home side one up when he defeated Adam Sears 58-24. in the second frame of the evening between Neil Dowlman and Adam both players compiled breaks, Neil 32 and Adam 34 and it was the lat-ter who took the frame 68-46. Neil put his side 2-1 up and with a break of 63 he defeated Dale Scofield 75-1. Dale faired better in his second frame against Dan and with a 44 break Dale levelled the score at 2-2 with a 58-15 frame score. Jamie Turner and Newark’s Rob Hall played the three remaining frames. Rob took the first two frames 61-38 and 62-22 which meant that Newark had won the match. In the final frame both players had sizeable breaks, Jamie with a 48 and Rob with a 49, but the frame went to Jamie 71-49. Newark winning the match 4-3.

Lincoln Snooker Club A have won the last six matches and they also faced a tricky away against their C team. Matt Ransome put the A team 2-0 up when he defeated Stu Cannings 60-23 and then with a 78-20 win over Justin Hunt. Daren Dougthy played two frames back to back, with a 40 break he defeated Phil Cross 94-34 with a break of 40 and then he followed that up with a 73-35 win against Lee Applewhite and a lead of 4-0. James Lilley played very well and put the C teams first win of the night when he defeated Gav Whittle 75-11. Stu Cannings pulled another frame back for the C team when he defeated Matt Lee 52-20. The final frame saw another frame on the board for the C team when Lee Applewhite beat Matt Lee 80-0 and a break of 38.

Lincoln Snooker Club D and B played out the remaining match which also ended up 4-3, but it was the D who won and it was only their second win of the season so far. Rick Epton put the B side one up when he defeated George Barrett 69-37. Chris Robinson played two excellent frames next, firstly defeating Rick 65-50 and then 68-59 against Calum Baptist. Ben Rickards al-so had two excellent frames defeating Calum 53-23 and then 67-48 against Hugo Tomas and it also secured a much needed win for the D team. The final two frames went to Hugo, he defeated Mark Handford 46-38 and 43-24. thi much needed win sees them with the same number of points as the C team.

Castle Ward B after three successive white washes they managed to win their second game of the season at the expense of their A team. Ken Hill started the ball rolling for the B team when he won a black ball frame against Adie Bunn 57-54. Matt Strickson made it 2-0 when he beat Rob Reeve 56-23. Tim Dunn reduced the arrears for the A team when he defeated Kev Cottam 67-35. Jack McGovern played very well when he defeated Scott Gratrick 55-34 and a lead of 3-1. Adam Petty pulled a frame back for the A team when he recorded a 49-22 win over Ken Hill. The final frame of the night saw Jack facing Tim, and it was Jack who continued his fine form defeating Tim 75-40 with a break of 28.

League leaders Lincoln Snooker Club E were away to Hykeham A and they got off to a good start when Wayne Bean defeated Gary Beardsley 70-1 with a 37 break. Steve Robinson levelled the score when he beat Jimmy Durrance 58-29 which was followed with a 56-30 win for Gary against Nick McCauley. Steve and Wayne returned to the table to play their second frames but Wayne was in good form and with a break of 33 in a 67-7 win, it also levelled the score at 2-2. Jimmy made it 3-2 when he defeated Dan May 60-27. The final frame saw Nick play Dave Coutts and won 59-16.

Lincoln Snooker Club E defeated Hykeham B 4-2, Steve Burnett put his side 2-0 in quick time, firstly defeating Michael Morrison 41-21 and then with a 50-5 victory over Darren Edwards. Tristan Fussey pulled a frame back when he just got the better of Anthony Liddell 57-49. Michael returned to the table and he also played Anthony and won 57-28. Andy Gill made it 3-2 to the Snooker Club side when he defeated Darren 40-26. Andy completed the victory defeating Tristan 58-29. The two Lincoln Snooker Club sides play each other next week, the final match of this half before the Christmas Break.

Lincoln Snooker Club G have now gone seven games without a win, their latest result was 2-4 loss against unbeaten Moorlands & Railway A. Jazz Bailey put Lincoln Snooker Club one up when he played very well in beating Trev Porter 61-12. The Moorlands side hit back and took the next two frames which saw victories for Josh Weaver and Nathan Shasby, both against Ollie Schmidt, Josh winning 48-15 and Nathan winning 57-32. Mark “Gibbo” Gibbons levelled the match at 2-2 when he defeated Liam Shasby 43-33. John Rice made it 3-2 to the Moorlands when he defeated Michael Stacey 45-16, Josh made it two wins on the night defeating Gibbo 47-35.

Lincoln Snooker Academy were held to a 3-3 draw when they played Moorlands & Railway B, and they were made to fight hard to maintain their unbeaten run. Moorlands Kev Betts started the ball rolling when he defeated Jacob Louca 62-35. The second frame was very close between Moorlands Andy Campbell and the Academy’s Daniel Sherman, but it was the Academy’s Daniel who won a black ball frame 51-48. Jayden Hunt’s excellent form continued when he defeated Phil Barnett 47-20. Scott Simpson played the next two frames and he won them both, he beat Brandon Staples in his first frame 49-39 to level the score at 2-2. The fifth frame saw the first defeat of the season for Jayden despite a break of 33, Scott winning 73-59 and a 3-2 lead for the Moorlands. The final frame saw Brandon defeat Duncan MacDonald 58-33.

Having not won a game for a month Lincoln Snooker Club H stopped the rot with a 4-2 home win over Cube & Triangle. Jim Byrne and Leigh Blades made quick start for the home side when they raced into a 2-0 lead. Jim defeated Gary Chambers 47-20 which was followed by Leigh winning 57-19 against Marley Clayton. Dan Chambers put the away sides point on the board when he played very well in defeating Tom Cutten 61-18. Lincoln Snooker Club’s Tom Boyle played the next two frames, he made it 3-1 with a 58-33 win over Marley but was beaten 51-16 by Gary Chambers. Jim made it two wins from two on the night when he defeated Dan 52-18 and more importantly a win next to his sides name.

Hykeham A, Hykeham B and Lincoln Snooker Club A are all locked on four points at the top of the Billiards League. Hykeham B were away to Lincoln Snooker Club B and came away with all the points. Fraser Proctor playing his first game of the season just got the better of his opponent Leigh Blades winning 200-190. Chris Ellis played young Jayden Hunt and considering it was only Jayden’s second game of Billiards he did very well but just fell short as Chris won 200-187.

Rob Hall playing from Lincoln Snooker Club was in brilliant form away at Hykeham A with breaks of 216 and 261 he beat Dave Coutts 20-105. Dan May levelled the scores when he de-feated Anna Hall 200-126.
