Rob Hall of Newark Con Club was in sparkling form during the league match against Lincoln Snooker Club C. Adam Sears started the ball rolling for Newark when he won a black ball frame 62-59 against James Lilley. The same two players played out the second frame and Adam won that comfortably 76-10. in the third frame Adam made it 3-0 when he just got the better of his opponent, Phil Cross 64-32. The fourth frame between Newark’s Dave Jobling and Lincoln Snooker Club owner, Phil could have gone either way but it went to the home player, Dave when he won 63-51. Dave remained at the table and faced Lee Applewhite this time but the result went the same way which Dave took 64-16. Rob Hall also played Lee, which Rob won 60-31. The final frame between Rob and Phil saw Rob recording an excellent break and a total clearance of 128. Lincoln Snooker Club A also recorded a 7-0 whitewash against Lincoln Snooker Club D. Daren Doughty and George Barrett played the first two frames which Daren took 65-24 and 60-14. Matt Ransome followed that up with a 69-40 win over Simon Mower and a 43-32 victory over Ben Rickards. Gav Whittle played the fifth frame against Chris Robinson and won 75-55. Matt Lee played the two remaining frames for the Lincoln Snooker Club A and with a break of 41 he took the frame 77-31 against Ben. Matt continued his good form and with a break of 67 he won the final frame 88-7 to complete the whitewash. Woodhall Spa collected six of the seven points on offer away at Lincoln Snooker Club B. Glenn Foster was the lone winner for the home side when he defeated Dan Burt 58-13 in the first frame of the evening. Jamie Turner levelled the scores for Woodhall Spa when he defeated Glenn 69-9. Neil Dowlman put his side in front defeating Rick Epton 63-26. Jamie also played Rick winning 59-11, Dan returned to the table and played Calum Baptist this time and made it two wins from two with a 49-13 win. Jamie made it three wins on the evening when he defeated Calum 63-44. The final frame saw Neil defeat Rick 70-17. This win leaves Woodhall Spa Con Club nine points behind the leaders. The top match in the Lincoln Security Snooker League 1 was between the two Lincoln Snooker Club teams, the E & F sides. Paul Bean must like the number 41, he is top of the break board with 3 breaks of 41 and it is also the second time that he has recorded this break against Lincoln Snooker Club E. His, brother Wayne is not far behind on the break board with breaks of 37 & 38. In between is a break of 40 by Anthony Liddell who plays for this weeks opponents. Paul compiled his 41 break in the opening frame against Steve Burnett, Paul went on to win 77-13. James Durance made it 2-0 when he just got the better of Steve 55-45. Mark Taylor put his sides first point of the night when he defeated Nick McCauley 63-27. Brian Lawson restored the two frame lead defeating Mark 51-11. Paul played his second frame on the night and continued his form with a 50-29 win over Anthony. In the final frame Matt Todd completed the 5-1 win when he came from behind to beat Anthony 44-39. Not Only are Paul and Wayne leaders on the break board but both players are unbeaten in the league, both players winning all twelve frames, Matt Todd is not far behind with 8 wins from 11. Hykeham A recorded their best win of the season when they were away to Castle Ward B despite losing the first frame, it couldn’t have been much closer when Ken Hill won a black ball 39-38 against Steve Robinson. Steve faired better in his second frame defeating Craig Wallace 50-10 to level the scores. Gary Beardsley put Hykeham in front for the first time when he beat Matt Strickson 55-6 and Gary extended Hykeham’s lead when he won the fourth frame 59-25 against Jack McGovern. Rob Chapman played out the last two frames, he beat Kev Cottam 61-38 and then followed that with a 60-24 win over Ken with a break of 28. Hykeham B also had a good result when they defeated third placed Castle Ward A. Dave Croft opened the scoring in a high scoring frame when he came from behind to win on the black 69-64 against Adrian Bunn. Rob Reeves levelled the scores when he won a black ball frame 42-35 against Tristan Fussey. Michael Morrison put Hykeham back in front with a 56-23 victory over Tim Dunn, but Castle Ward won another black ball decider when Adam Petty defeated Chris El-lis 44-40. the remaining two frames were a bit more clear cut firstly Darren Edwards defeated Rob 64-41 and Michael beat Adam 62-21 for a 4-3 home win for Hykeham. The main match in the George Barrett Snooker League 2 was between the top two unbeaten sides, Lincoln Snooker Academy and Moorlands & Railway A. With the Academy side at home they had a slight advantage. Oli Bishell started the ball rolling and with a break of 27 and a winning score of 89-36 against Josh Weaver he put the first point on board for the home side. The experienced Trev Porter levelled the scores when he defeated Jacob Louca 43-31. The youngsters didn’t stand about and soon raced into a 4-1 lead. Daniel Sherman just got the bet-ter of his opponent, Nathan Shasby winning 63-50 which was followed by Jayden Hunt carrying on his fine form winning the Lincoln Handicap Competition on Friday he continued with a 48-14 win over Liam Shasby. Brandon Staples made sure of a home victory when he defeated John Rice 53-27. The final frame of the night was between the two players who started the proceedings, but the result was different with Josh beating Oli 58-10. With this victory the Acad-emy side have not only extended their lead at the top b.ut they have inflicted the first defeat of the season on their opponents. Nevertheless it was still a very good performance by the Moorlands & Railway A team. Moorlands & Railway B extended their unbeaten run to four games after a 5-1 home win over Lincoln Snooker Club H, despite losing the opening frame when James Byrne defeated Duncan McDonald 60-21. Kev Betts squared the match when he beat Tom Boyle 60-21 which was then followed by Andy Campbell defeated Leigh Blades in a low scoring frame 36-3. Phil Barnatt made it 3-1 when he just got the better of George Lorenti with a 42-33 score line. Scott Simpson played out the two remaining frames and continued his good form with nine wins from nine. Scott first played Dave Poucher and he won that frame 66-28 and a 58-22 win over Ray Reid to complete the victory. Lincoln Snooker Club G were away to the Cube & Triangle and after one draw and six defeats in the last seven matches they finally stopped the rot with a 4-2 win. Jazz Bailey put the Snooker Club side one up when he defeated Glen Ayres 44-15. Ollie Schmidt made it 2-0 with a 42-29 victory over Marley Clayton. Mark ‘Gibbo’ Gibbons extended their lead to 3-0 winning 44-35 against Jack Belton. Karl Clayton earned the home teams first point on the board when he won a black ball frame 54-50 against Jazz. Dan Chambers and Michael Stacey played out the two remaining frames, Dan took the first frame 56-26 but the final frame Michael reversed the score winning 45-25. Lincoln Snooker Club G have closed the gap to just one point behind Lincoln Snooker Club H. It should be an interesting second half. Rob Hall continued his brilliant break building after the Snooker break of 128 he topped that off in the Billiards with breaks of 274 and 127 against James Lilley of the Lincoln Snooker Club B side. The frame score was 200-173, Rob’s handicap is minus 800. Anna made it 2-0 with a 200-70 win over Leigh Blades. Hykeham A yet to win a game and yet to lose a game, their latest draw was against Castle Ward A. Tristan Fussey made it three wins from three when he defeated Dean Manders 200-156. Nick Haywood squared the match 200-153 against Chris Ellis aided by a break of 41.
