Lincoln Snooker Club A ten game unbeaten run came to end when they were beaten 5-2 by Woodhall Spa Con Club. Dan Burt opened the scoring with a 67-45 defeat of Daren Doughty. Jamie Turner made it 2-0 when he also beat Daren 57-47. The two Matt’s levelled the scores, firstly Matt Ransome defeated Neil Dowlman 104-30 with a break of 33 and Matt Lee recorded a break of 43 in his 79-54 win over Dan. Neil put Woodhall Spa back in front when he won a black ball frame 52-46 against Jamie Barker. Jamie Turner for Woodhall Spa put his team further in front with a 69-30 win over Matt Lee. The final frame between Dan and Jamie was won by Dan 65-52 with a break of 39 for Dan. Dale Schofield was in fine form for the Newark Con Club side when they visited Lincoln Snooker Club B. Dale started the scoring defeating Calum Baptist 62-1 with a break of 58. Calum made amends and won his second frame when he defeated Adam Sears 49-23. Adam also made amends for his defeat when he beat Rick Epton 68-28. Rick won his second frame 64-29 against Matt Bavin. Matt was another player to win his second frame when he defeated Hugo Tomas 57-26. Dale returned to the table for the final two frames, with a break of 51 in his 57-30 victory over Hugo and in the final frame he won a black ball frame 68-60 against Rick. This win leaves Newark just two points behind Lincoln Snooker Club A and Woodhall Spa are a further two points behind. Lincoln Snooker Club D recorded only their third win of the season when they defeated their C team 5-2. James Lilley put the C team one up when he just got the better of George Barrett 65-54. Chris Robinson made it 1-1 when he won a close frame 60-50 against Justin Hunt. Stu Cannings made it 2-1 for the C team when he defeated Mark Handford 61-35. The D team stepped up and won the four remaining frames. George defeated Lee Applewhite 63-11 which was followed by two victories for Ben Rickards. Ben beat Justin 62-23 and won a black ball frame 48-45 against Stu. Chris took the final frame with a break of 59 in his 72-47 win over Lee. This win now puts the D team level with the C team but remain in bottom place winning one match less than the C team.

Hykeham A are gradually climbing up the table after four successive victories and they have only dropped six points in those wins. Their latest victory was a 4-2 away win over Lincoln Snooker Club E. Steve Burnett had a great first frame and with breaks of 42 and 37 he defeated Steve Robinson 82-5. Dave Coutts levelled the scores defeating Steve Burnett 54-31. Mark Taylor put the Snooker club side back in front when he beat Gary Beardsley 55-15. Gary remained at the table and he faced Anthony Liddell in his second frame and he levelled the scores at 2-2 with a 48-24 win. Rob Chapman made it 3-2 to Hykeham when he won a black ball frame 69-62 against Mark. Rob had another close frame but he held on to a slender lead and he eventually won 53-40 to complete the win for Hykeham, they have now moved up to third place just one point in front of their B team. Hykeham B were held to a 3-3 draw with Castle Ward . The first frame of the evening between Darren Edwards of Hykeham and Ken Hill for Castle Ward, saw both players record breaks. Darren recorded a 27 break while Ken had a break of 25 and it was the latter who took the frame 78-38. Chris Ellis made it 1-1 defeating Kev Cottam 51-38. Dave Croft put Hykeham in front for the first time when he defeated Matt Strickson 47-24. Castle Ward hit back and took the next two frames, firstly Jack McGovern beat Tristan Fussey 64-35 and Ken defeated Michael Morrison 73-56 with a break of 29 for Ken. League Leaders, Lincoln Snooker Club F are on a run of eight matches un-between and are twelve points in front of their E team. The F team were away to Castle Ward A and soon found themselves one down when Adrian Bunn defeated Matt Todd 55-45 despite a break of 27 from Matt. James Durrance levelled the scores for the Snooker Club side when he beat Rob Reeves 49-38 with a break of 32 from James. Nick McCauley put the away side in front for the first time defeating Adam Petty 52-13. Tim Dunn made it 2-2 with a 64-38 win against Brian Lawson. Edward Taylor playing his first match for over a month when he came from behind to win a black ball frame 50-48 against Scott Gratrick. Tim and James played the remaining frame which went to James when he won 62-50.

The unbeaten run continues for the youngsters at Lincoln Snooker Academy , their latest result was a 3-3 draw with Lincoln Snooker Club G and were made to fight hard for the result. Jacob Louca put the Academy side one up when he defeated Jazz Bailey 51-34. Mark ‘Gibbo’ Gibbons levelled the scores for the home team with a 51-33 victory over Daniel Shearman. Oli Bishell had an excellent frame against Josh Hackney to restore the Academy’s lead with a 69-16 win. But back came the home side and Jazz made amends for his earlier defeat when he beat Brandon Staples 42-16. The reliable Jayden Hunt’s good form continues and put his side back in front when he defeated Josh 65-36. The final frame saw Gibbo defeat Oli 58-43 to earn a share of the spoils. Moorlands & Railway A remain in second place after a 4-2 away win over Lincoln Snooker Club H, and have a comfortable lead over their B team. Trev Porter had a comfortable victory against Tom Cutten winning 58-2. John Rice made it 2-0 to the Moorlands when he just got the better of Dave Poucher 55-45. Josh Weaver had a good game against James Byrne winning 65-27 and more importantly a 3-0 lead. Tom Boyle for the Lincoln Snooker Club side put the first point on board when he defeated Nathan Shasby 67-19. George Lorenti put another point on board for the home side when he just got the better of Liam Shasby 44-33. the final frame went to the way of the away side when Josh defeated Ray Reid 60-33 to earn a valuable win and keeping in touch with the leaders who are just seven points in front. Moorlands & Railway B are unbeaten in the last seven matches, their latest was a 4-2 win over Cube &Triangle. Karl Clayton put the Cube one up when he defeated Andy Campbell 49-10. The Moorlands side hit back and took the next four frames which saw wins for Duncan MacDonald, Andy Riggall, and two wins for Scott Simpson. Gary Chambers won the final frame of the evening for the Cube & Triangle 46-30 against Phil Barnett.

It couldn’t be much closer in the Billiards League with three teams unbeaten and all on seven points, Lincoln Snooker Club A top the league with two wins next to their name, Hykeham A and B have won one each. Rob Hall compiled breaks of 140,96,76 and 52 against his good friend Chris Ellis winning 200-164. Rob’s wife Anna played well but was beaten by Tristan Fussey 172-200 with Anna giving Tristan a 30point lead. 

Hykeham A won their first match of the season when they entertained Castle Ward Dan May defeated Scott Gratrick 200-178 and Dave Coutts with a 35 break defeated Nick Haywood 200-72
