Second placed Newark Con Club faced a tricky home fixture against third placed Woodhall Spa Con Club. Adam Sears played three successive frames to begin with. In his first frame Adam defeated Dan Burt 62-42 but in the second frame Jamie Turner who is having a good season so far made it 1-1 with a break of 56 in his 86-45 victory. But back came Adam in the third frame and with breaks of 34 and 42 he defeated his opponent, Neil Dowlman 83-7. The fourth frame saw Woodhall Spa level the scores and with a break of 39 by Dan he defeated Newark’s Dale Schofield 71-18. Dale remained at the table for his second frame and with a break of 36 he defeated Neil 64-9 and a 3-2 lead for the hosts. Jamie levelled the scores at 3-3 with a convincing victory over Dave Jobling 90-1 and a break of 43. The final frame saw Woodhall Spa go in front for the first time when Neil beat Dave 77-23. Woodhall Spa are now just one point behind Newark Con Club. Leaders of the Spec & Fix Premier League, Lincoln Snooker Club A returned back to winning ways with a 6-1 win over stable mates Lincoln Snooker Club C. Daren Doughty started the ball rolling for the home side with a comfortable 57-3 win over James Lilley. The second frame between Daren and Stu Cannings both compile breaks of 40 but it was Stu who took the frame 69-57. Matt Ransome won both his frames firstly defeating Phil Cross 54-16 and Justin Hunt 76-1. Matt Lee made the score 4-1 when he defeated Gary Falkinder 60-49 which was followed by a 64-17 win over Lee Applewhite. The final frame saw Jamie Barker just get the better of Stu winning 62-53 for a 6-1 win an are five points clear at the top. There will be plenty of twist and turns to come. Lincoln Snooker Club B are in a downward spiral at the moment with no win in eight. Their latest defeat was a 5-2 at home against Lincoln Snooker Club D. Simon Mower put the away side one up when he defeated Hugo Tomas 60-26. Hugo played another two frames and levelled the scores with a low scoring win 39-25 against George Barrett. The same to playes played out the third frame and this time George won that winning on the black 57-50. Chris Robinson put his team further in front with a 69-31 win over Rick Epton. Rick faired better in his second frame against Mark Handford, both players compiling breaks Mark recorded a break of 34 and Rick replied with a break of 44 and won the frame 64-43. Chris made 4-2 when he defeated Calum Baptist 67-21. The final frame saw Mark win a black baller against Calum winning 60-54.

Lincoln Snooker Club E are falling further behind the League leaders of the Lincoln Security Snooker league after three successive 4-2 defeats and with three clubs on their tails. Their nearest rivals Hykeham B were the latest team to defeat them. Dave Croft put Hykeham one up when he defeated Steve Burnett 47-31. Tristan Fussey was in fine form firstly defeating Steve 68-32, Tristan with a break of 47 and Steve a 31 break. Tristan then played Andy Gill, these two meet in the semi finals of the first division competition. Tristan with a break of 28 defeated Andy 66-11. Darren Edwards made it 4-0 when he also beat Andy 65-17. The final two frames saw Anthony Liddell for Lincoln Snooker Club win both of his frames firstly defeating Dave when he came from behind to win on a black ball frame 60-59. The final frame was also close with Anthony eventually winning 65-58 against Darren. The two Castle Ward teams met and the A team were determined to end a run of six successive defeats. Ken Hill put the B side one up when he defeated Tim Dunn 61-27. Adam Petty levelled the scores when he beat Kev Cottam 44-28. Rob Reeves put the A side in front for the first time when he played Craig Wallace 47-14. Ken won his second frame of the night to level the scores at 2-2 with a black ball win over Scott Gratrick 45-40. Adam also won his second frame of the evening defeating Kev 63-29. Rob completed the victory when he played very well defeating Craig 62-9. League Leaders Lincoln Snooker Club F are now 14 points clear at the top of the league and without Paul and Wayne Bean they still defeated Hykeham A 4-2. Nick McCauley started the ball rolling and he recorded a comfortable 53-5 win over Steve Robinson. Gary Beardsley levelled the scoring when he defeated Brian Lawson 52-21. The Snooker Club side then took the next three frames, Jimmy Durance wn his two frames 51-38 against Rob Chapman and Jimmy came from behind to pip Dave Coutts on the black 51-50. Brian played his second frame defeating 70-36 against Dan May. Nick and Gary played the final frame which went to Gary 40—23.

Cube & Triangle recorded their biggest win for several years a 6-0 victory, however their opponents Lincoln Snooker Club H, were just going through the motions and happy to have Leigh Blades back in the team. The LDBSA players and supporters were glad to see Leigh Blades make an appearance after the passing of his wife Mavis and his good friend Rick O’Reilly all our thoughts are with you Leigh. The Cube winners were Marley Clayton, Dan Chambers, Glynn Ayris, Karl Clayton and two wins for Gary Chambers who also had a break of 25. Moorlands & Railway A recorded their second 5-1 victory in three weeks when they entertained Lincoln Snooker Club G. Nathan Shasby started the ball rolling for the Moorlands side with a 62-28 win over Jazz Bailey. Trev Porter was in good form on the night defeating Oli Schmidt 58-21 which was followed by an impressive win for Liam Shasby who also defeated Oli 62-6. John Rice made it 4-0 when he defeated Mark Gibbons 51-20. Josh Hackney earned the lone point for the Snooker Club side when he just got the better of John winning 66-411. The final frame saw Trev return to the table and with a break of 27 in his victory over Mark to complete the victory. The Lincoln Snooker Academy side are still unbeaten and after two successive draws they returned back to winning ways with their fourteenth win of the season a 5-1 home success over Moorlands & Railway B. Andy Campbell put the away side one up when he defeated Jacob Louca 74-51. Daniel Sherman levelled the scores at 1-1 when he just edged out Andy Campbell 53-41. The impressive Jayden Hunt put the Academy side in front for the first time defeating Scott Simpson 71-22. Daniel made it two wins on the night with a 57-24 win over Andy Riggall. Oli Bishell made it 4-1 when he defeated Scott 57-34 which was followed by a 49-9 win for Jayden against Andy Riggall.

Lincoln Snooker Club A remain unbeaten despite being without star player, Rob Hall who was competing in the UK Championships Landywood Snooker Club, where he was beaten by last years champions Dave Causier in the semi-finals. Dave retained his title beating Peter Gilchrist in the final. Back to the local scene Darren Hall played his first Billiards match of the season and he didn’t let the side down defeating Nick Haywood 200-173 Darren with a break of 41. Dean Manders levelled the scores at 1-1 with a break of 55 in his 200-120 win against Anna Hall. Lincoln Snooker Club B couldn’t have come much closer in registering their first win of the season when they held Hykeham A to a 1-1 draw. Leigh Blades was unlucky losing by just one point against Dan May losing 199-200. Young James Lilley registered his first win of the season when he defeated Steve Robinson 200-130 to earn a share of the spoils.
