The top match was between was between Newark Con Club and Lincoln Snooker Club A. The Lincoln Snooker Club side had a slender three-point lead at the top and with only another two matches to play every point is vital to both sides. Matt Ransome played the first two frames of the evening, he won the first frame 60-46 against Adam Sears but lost his second frame with a similar score-line losing 46-59 against Matt Bavin. Matt Lee then played his two frames and in doing so put his side 3-1 up, firstly with a 68-break beating Matt Bavin 92-7 and then with a 67-27 victory over Adam. Newark’s Dave Jobling re-captured some of his form playing the three remaining frames and winning all three. Dave played Jamie Barker twice, winning the first frame 85-4 and 54-42. The deciding frame Dave defeated Daren Doughty 76-3 and just two points behind their opponents. Woodhall Spa were away to Lincoln Snooker Club B and came away with six of the seven points. Neil Dowlman played the first two frames, defeating Glenn Foster 62-54 then Rick Epton 53-32 for a 2-0 lead. Kieron Richards-Witham made it 3-0 when he beat Rick on the black 56-49. Glenn’s second frame was also a close affair when he faced Nigel Salmon winning 64-57. Nigel then made it 4-1 with a 63-2 victory over Dave Norman. Kieron made it 5-1 with an 83-37 win over Calum Baptist. Nigel played his third frame of the night against Calum and won 64-28.

It looks like this league has been decided, Lincoln Snooker Club C need only three points from the remaining two matches to be league winners and the D team are well clear of Lincoln Snooker Club E, but we all know anything can happen. The two title contenders faced each other and the C team had gone on a run of eleven matches unbeaten before last nights match. But the form book had been thrown out the window with the D team winning 5-2. Damon Sykes was up first against Justin Hunt and Damon won that frame on the black 57-50. The second frame was one-way traffic with Damon winning 72-0 against Paul Bean. This must have stirred Paul up and with a 49 break he defeated Chris Robinson 78-44. Phil Cross levelled the scores at 2-2 when he just got the better of Simon Mower 48-39. Simon then played Justin in the 5th frame but it was the latter who won 56-17. Phil won his second frame of the night when he defeated Lee Applewhite 62-33. Stu Cannings also played Lee and won 56-15 to complete the victory. The remaining match between Moorlands & Railway A and Lincoln Snooker Club E. There was only one point between these two sides with the Moorlands having the advantage. Steve Burnett played the first three frames, he lost the first 55-23 against Sean Falkinder but beat Gary Falkinder 53-41 and 54-12. Sean then played Anthony Liddell and won 55-16 to level the match score at 2-2. Gary put his side back in front when he beat Anthony 54-21. Tom Hutchinson played the final two frames for the Moorlands, he won his first frame 46-11 against Mark Taylor but lost the final frame of the night 47-61 also against Mark.

The two Lincoln Snooker Academy Sides had a good week, the A side had a creditable 3-3 home draw against Castle Ward B and The B side recorded their best result of the season so far, a 5-1 home win over the Cube & Triangle. Jared Bailey started the ball rolling when he defeated Dan Chambers 43-18. Adie Lowe was up next and he also faced Dan, and he didn’t let his team mates down recording only his fourth win of the season with a 51-30 score line. Jack Lowe was the third player up and was playing his first game for a month and he didn’t disappoint and soon made it 3-0 when he beat Karl Clayton 53-35. The Cube & Triangles only point came in the fourth frame when Gary Chambers defeated Joe Jackson. The two remaining frames saw Josh Hackney play two frames straight off. Firstly, defeating Karl 53-33 and then beating Gary in a closely fought frame winning 63-55. This should give them a lot of encouragement for the rest of the season. The Academy A side played Castle Ward B who were mid table and 15 points better off than their opponents. Ken Hill put the away side one up when he just scrapped home when he came from behind to win on the black 47-41. James Lilley played very well and he ran out a 65-21 winner against Craig Wallace. Daniel Sherman put the home side back in front, Dan played Matt Strickson and it was a very high scoring frame and it was Dan who took the frame winning another black ball game 69-63. The fourth frame was another close game and Oli Bishell also won that 59-50 against Kev Cottam. Dan returned back to the table and faced Kev, this frame was fairly close and Kev took this frame 61-43. Matt played his second frame of the evening and this time he defeated Ollie Bagnall 56-11 to avoid a team defeat. Lincoln Snooker Club F continue to lead the way at the top of the first division sponsored by Adam Sears Snooker Coaching Academy. Their latest result was a white wash for the second week running and their fifth f the season. Moorlands & Railway B were their latest victims. George Barratt started the night off with a comfortable 60-3 win over Nathan Shasby. George then played Liam Shasby straight after and it was another victory for George winning 56-19. Mark Handford was up next and he faced John Rice and Mark won that frame 48-22 and a lead of 3-0. The fourth frame between Mark and Nathan could of gone either way but it was Mark who just held out winning a black ball decider 43-38. The reliable Ben Rickards played the remaining two frames firstly beating Liam 64-16 and then John 53-30 to complete their twenty second win of the season, they have still only lost one match. Castle Ward A were another team to collect maximum points they entertained Lincoln Snooker Club G. Tim Dunn put his side one up when he beat Andy Nichol 53-29. Adam Petty just got the better of Matt Todd winning 59-48 and his team two up. Rob Reeves and Scott Gratrick extended their sides lead, Rob beat Tom Boyle and Scott defeated an out of form Leigh Blades. Adam and Tim played their second frames of the night, Adam winning 62-21 against Andy and Tim won a close game winning on the black 44-38. This was Lincoln Snooker Clubs second 6-0 defeat in a row. Hykeham A were a way to Moorlands & Railway C and came away with five points. Dave Coutts was on first and he faced Andy Campbell and Dave eventually won 57-45. Rob Chapman then made it 2-0 when he defeated Phil Barnett 50-24. Scott Simpson for the home side gained his sides only point when he played well in defeating Steve Robinson 70-45. Gary Beardsley and Dan May made sure of an away win when they beat Scott Simpson and Andy Riggall respectively. The final frame saw Rob returning to the table for his second frame and he played very well in defeating Ian Baker 63-17. Hykeham B faced nearest rivals Castle Ward C, both teams were on 97 points and seven points behind Hykeham A before last nights matches, and nothing could separate them by the end of the night drawing 3-3. Darren Edwards beat Martin Key on the black 45-42 and Michael Morrison won both of his frames defeating Tristan Fussey 59-27 and then Martin Key 66-37. Craig Starbuck beat Dave Croft 52-31 and then in the fifth frame he beat Darren on the black 45-39. Tristan completed the draw when he beat Scott Morrison 57-18.
