Newark Con Club extended their lead to two points over Woodhall Spa Con Club after securing a 4-3 victory at Woodhall Spa Con Club. Dale Schofield opened the scoring with a narrow black-ball win, edging out Dan Burt 57-54. However, Dan responded in the second frame, winning 63-54 with a break of 39. Dale played his third consecutive frame in style, delivering an outstanding performance with breaks of 70 and 40 to defeat Neil Dowlman 111-1. Neil then faced Rob Hall in back-to-back frames, but Rob dominated both encounters, winning 65-15 and 71-25, with a break of 45 in the second frame. The final two frames saw Jamie Turner take on Adam Sears, with Jamie securing a 2-0 win. He compiled breaks of 52 and 65 in his 78-22 and 65-5 victories, sealing the overall result.. Newark Con Club will face league leaders Lincoln Snooker Club A and Woodhall Spa in their remaining fixtures, both at home. Lincoln Snooker Club A maintained their ten-point lead at the top of the league with a command-ing 6-1 victory over Lincoln Snooker Club C. Daren Doughty and Matt Ransome both faced James Lilley and won their frames convincingly, with Daren prevailing 67-27 and Matt securing a 62-8 victory. Matt continued his winning streak, defeating Stu Cannings 51-37 to give his side a 3-0 lead. Matt Lee then delivered an impressive break of 61 in his 81-1 triumph over Gary Falkinder. Stu Cannings earned his team’s only point of the night by overcoming Matt Lee 58-31. Jamie Barker completed the dominant performance for the A team, defeating Gary 64-14 and Lee Applewhite 74-39. Lincoln Snooker Club B remains in fourth place, holding a 19-point advantage over their C team. Their latest match resulted in a 6-1 away win against bottom-placed Lincoln Snooker Club D. The B team surged into a 5-0 lead, with three wins for Calum Baptist and two victories for Hugo, who recorded breaks of 36 and 34. Chris Robinson secured the only frame for the D side, defeating Glenn Foster 62-9. Glenn, however, bounced back to win the final frame 61-27 against George Barrett, concluding the match. With the season nearing its conclusion, the upcoming fixtures will be crucial in determining the final league standings.

The two Castle Ward teams, who sit in 5th and 6th place in the league, faced each other, with 6th-placed Castle Ward B securing their best result of the season by whitewashing their A team 6-0. Ken Hill put the B team ahead with a 56-27 win over Tim Dunn. Kev Cottam edged out Adam Petty 73-59 in a closely contested second frame. Jack McGovern extended the lead to 3-0 with an 85-33 victory over Scott Gratrick. Scott put up a stronger fight in the fourth frame but was narrowly beaten 52-40 by Ken. Kev secured his second win of the night, defeating Tim 62-49, while Jack also completed a perfect evening by overcoming Adam 62-47. The top two teams in the Lincoln Security Snooker League 1 both suffered 4-2 defeats at the hands of the Hykeham teams. League leaders Lincoln Snooker Club F travelled to Hykeham A, where Paul Bean gave them an early lead with a 59-10 win over Steve Robinson. However, Hykeham responded with Rob Chapman defeating James Durrance 60-30 and Gary Beardsley overcoming Brian Lawson 75-20. Wayne Bean, returning from a brief break, found his form with a 61-29 victory over Dave Coutts, compiling a break of 41. Dan May put Hykeham back in front, winning 49-35 against Nick McCauley with a break of 25. Rob then sealed the win for Hykeham with a 62-30 victory over Paul. Meanwhile, Hykeham B secured a 4-2 away win against second-placed Lincoln Snooker Club E. The home side started strong with Steve Burnett winning his two frames, defeating Darren Edwards 51-20 and Michael Morrison 62-46. Tristan Fussey then levelled the match by beating Mark Taylor in two frames, winning 67-34 and 77-41. Darren Edwards ensured Hykeham B re-gained the lead with a comfortable 72-31 victory over Andy Gill, before Michael Morrison wrapped up the win with a 68-37 triumph over Andy in the final frame.

Cube & Triangle recorded their fourth win of the season at the expense of Lincoln Snooker Club H. Karl Clayton opened the scoring by defeating Tom Cutten 64-35, followed by a victory for Glen Ayris over Dave Poucher 57-30. Jack Belton made it 3-0 for Cube & Triangle with a 48-21 win against George Lorenti. Ray Reid secured the first point for Lincoln Snooker Club H with a 49-17 victory over Dan Chambers. Leigh Blades then brought the deficit to 3-2, winning a black-ball frame 48-40 against Marley Clayton. However, Karl sealed the win by defeating George 59-33. Cube & Triangle now sit just five points behind Lincoln Snooker Club G, whom they will face next week. Moorlands & Railway A recorded their 16th win of the season with a 5-1 victory over Lincoln Snooker Club G. Trev Porter and Nathan Shasby put Moorlands ahead early, with Trev defeating Olli Schmidt 60-5 and Nathan overcoming Jazz Bailey 69-53. The third frame saw Josh Hackney of Lincoln Snooker Club G face Josh Weaver of Moorlands, with Josh Weaver securing a 54-36 victory—the only point for Lincoln Snooker Club G on the night. Liam Shasby edged out Michael Stacey 45-37 in a black-ball frame, and Nathan secured his second win of the evening, defeating Jazz Bailey again 55-50 in another black-ball frame. Josh Weaver then wrapped up the victory with a 50-14 win over Josh Hackney in their rematch. League leaders Lincoln Snooker Academy remain unbeaten, having won 19 matches and drawn 5 out of 24 played. Their latest result was a 4-2 away win against second-placed Moorlands & Railway A. Andy Riggall gave Moorlands the lead with a 55-35 victory over Jacob Louca. However, the Academy responded strongly, winning the next three frames through Daniel Sherman, Brandon Staples, and Olli Bishell. Phil Barnatt put in an excellent performance to defeat Jayden Hunt 60-51, handing Jayden only his second loss of the season. Olli then secured his second win of the evening, comfortably beating Andy Riggall 64-10. With the season nearing its conclusion, the upcoming fixtures will be crucial in determining the final league standings.

It sounds like an intense and competitive week in the Billiards League! With such a close gap between the top teams, every frame matters. The first match between the home player Anna and Castle Ward’s Nick Haywood was a close game but Anna just held out to win 200-180. Rob Hall’s performance was particularly impressive, overcoming a significant handicap with high-scoring breaks of 224,214 and 37against Dean Manders. Hykeham A holding onto third place shows how tight the league is, winning more games will be crucial for them moving forward. Their latest result was a 1-1 draw with Lincoln Snooker Club B. Dave Coutts opened the scoring when he defeated Leigh Blades 200-150. James Lilley levelled the scores when he played well to defeat Dan May 200-157.
