The Youngsters from Lincoln Snooker Club A held the league leaders Lincoln Snooker Club F to a 3-3 draw. This result must give them confidence to climb a few places up the league table from their remaining matches. Daniel Sherman put his side one up when he had a good result 59-36 against George Barratt. James Lilley also beat George to put his side two up winning 42-28. Oli May made it 3-0 when he just got the better of Mark Handford 48-40. Mark Gibbons for the leaders started the fightback with a 73-30 win over James. The reliable Ben Rickards played the last two frames, firstly beating Oli Bishell 57-48 and 54-22 to complete the fightback. With a bit of luck and a better running of the balls they could have inflicted Lincoln Snooker Club’s only second defeat of the season.
Hykeham A collected maximum points against Castle Ward A, Steve Robinson started the ball rolling and played very well throughout the frame to beat Tim Dunn 67-27. The reliable Dave Coutts made it 2-0 with a similar score-line defeating Rob Reeves 61-27. Rob Chapman made it 3-0 playing well to beat Adie Bunn 61-40. Gay Beardsley then played two frames back to back firstly beating Tim 79-40 and then defeating Adie 58-30. Rob played the final frame of the night defeating Rob 61-21. This win leaves Hykeham just two points behind the league leaders Lincoln Snooker Club F and eleven points above Castle Ward C and Hykeham B.
Castle Ward B also collected maximum points away at struggling Lincoln Snooker Club G. Ken Hill put the away side one up when he beat Andy Nichol 52-8 which was followed by a black ball game between Craig Wallace and Leigh Blades 49-56 in Craig’s favour. Matt Strickson extended his teams lead when he defeated Ray Reid 53-33. Kev Cottam then played two frames in a row, in his first frame Kev beat Andy 42-16 and then another black ball win for Castle Ward when Kev beat Leigh 47-40. The final frame was another close affair when Craig beat Ray 40-32. Lincoln Snooker Club G should move up the table in the remaining as they are playing teams that are around them.
Moorlands and Railway C inflicted more misery on basement side Lincoln Snooker Academy B side. Josh Hackney put the Academy side one up when he beat Andy Riggall 50-26. After losing the opening frame it was one-way traffic Andy Campbell defeated Ady Lowe 68-35. Scott Simpson played two successive frames firstly defeating Jack Lowe 58-33 and then Jazz 53-12. Ian Baker completed the victory with a 55-29 win over Jack and then 53-42 against Jazz.
Mid table Moorlands and Railway B had a good 3-3 draw against Castle Ward C. Castle Ward took the first frame when Tristan Fussey defeated Trev Porter 61-16 with a 31 break. The Moorlands team then took the next three frames Josh Weaver and Nathan Shasby both defeated Graham Smith, Josh winning on the black 44-42 and Nathan 62-35. Liam Shasby then defeated Craig Starbuck 49-29 for a 3-1 lead. Craig then defeated Josh 7037. Tristan played his second frame against Liam and just edged Liam out 47-38 for a 3-3 draw.
Hykeham B are in fourth spot in the league and they were away to the Cube and Triangle. Hykeham won the opening frame Dave Croft defeating Pete Watson 60-15. Gary Chambers levelled the scores when he beat Darren Edwards 51-14. Karl Clayton put the home side in front for the first time when he just got the better of Michael Morrison 57-47. Scott Morrison made the scores all square defeating Pete 52-19. Dave Croft and Scott played the two remaining frames for the Hykeham Side, Dave beat Gary 40-18 and Scott beat Karl 59-16.
