Exciting Start to the New Season as Teams Shuffle and Settle In with players moving between teams and clubs during the off-season, this year's campaign promises plenty of drama—and it hasn’t taken long to deliver. The reigning Premier League champions got off to a strong start by defeating last season’s First Divsion League winners Lincoln Snooker Club C. Captain Daren Doughty led from the front for the home side, getting his team off to the perfect start. He won both of his frames, first beating Paul Bean 48-36, before delivering a commanding 82-9 victory over Nick McCauley, which included a break of 54. Jamie Barker extended the lead to 3-0 with a 46-14 win over Matt Todd. However, Lincoln Snooker Club C got on the board through their captain Paul Bean, who responded with a hard-fought 68-52 win against Jamie. Matt Lee then took over, extending the home team’s advantage with two solid wins—51-40 over Nick McCauley and 70-43 against Matt Todd. Both players impressed in that final frame, with Matt Todd compiling a break of 49 and Matt Lee contributing a break of 37. Lee Applewhite closed out the evening by winning the final frame 57-36 against Brian Lawson, sealing an emphatic victory for the home side. Woodhall Spa began their campaign at home against Lincoln Snooker Club B, and although they lost the opening two frames, they came back strongly to secure the win. Calum Baptist gave the visitors an early lead, winning the first frame 79-7 with an excellent break of 46. He then edged a tight second frame, winning a black ball decider 64-57 against Dan Burt to make it 2-0. However, Jamie Turner got Woodhall Spa on the board with a 65-32 win over Simon Mower, and league newcomer Kristian Willetts followed that up with a convincing 71-20 win also against Simon to level the match at 2-2. Dan Burt then returned to the table to win his second frame of the night, defeating a luckless Simon 57-39. Unfortunately for the visitors, they were only able to field two players, meaning they had to concede the final two frames, handing the home team the win by default.

Lincoln Snooker Club D collected maximum points at home to Hykeham B, Stu Cannings won a close first frame when he came from behind to beat Mark Handford 48-46. Phil Cross made it 2-0 when he also beat Mark 52-36. George Barrett made it 3-0 with a good win 61-18 against Michael Morrison. Adam Hanson made it 4-0 playing very well to defeat Darren Edwards 60-31. The final two frames saw Justin Hunt take them both firstly beating Michael 47-36 and then in the final frame he defeated Chris Ellis 44-31 to complete the whitewash. Last seasons Snooker League 2 winners Lincoln Snooker Academy carried on from last season, they were unbeaten all season and they opened their account in League 1 with a 5-1 against Moorlands & Railway A who also played in DIvision 2 last season and finished runners up. Trev Porter put the Moorlands one up when he just got the better of Jacob Louca 50-40. Daniel Sherman levelled the scores when he won a close encounter defeating Nathan Shasby 52-42. Oli Bishell put the Academy side 2-1 up when he defeated new signing Steve Lambert 61-28. James Lilley, a new player for the Academy side extended his teams lead with an excellent 60-8 win over Liam Shasby. Daniel made it two wins from two on the night when he defeated Trev 62-18. The final frame saw last seasons young player of the year, Jayden Hunt who only lost one frame last season and he won the Lincoln Handicap last week when he defeated Stephen Burnett 5-2 carried on his good form with a 72-21 victory against Steve. Lincoln Snooker Club F, a new side with players that have played in the league before and newcomer John Griffiths and they played well to defeat Castle Ward A 4-2. Adrian Bunn put Castle Ward one up when he defeated Glenn Blewitt 62-27. Tim Dunn made it 2-0 to the Ward when he beat Glen Weston 54-44. Steve Jakes pulled one frame back when he beat home team captain Rob Reeves 46-27. Newcomer John Griffiths levelled the scores at 2-2 with a 82-2 win over Adam Petty aided with a break of 37. Glenn Blewitt made it 3-2 when he got his own back on Adrian winning 52-38. Glen Weston completed the fightback when he also reversed his early losing frame when he defeated Tim 56-12 to complete the come back. Hykeham A and Lincoln Snooker Club E shared the six points with a 3-3 draw Another newcomer Sam Isherwood won the opening frame for Lincoln Snooker Club when he defeated Steve Robinson 62-50. Rob Chapman made it 1-1 when he played Sam winning 58-16. Dave Coutts made it 2-1 to Hykeham when he beat Jack Withers 68-30. Dan May made it 3-1 when he also beat Jack 47-6. The final two frames saw Anthony Liddell win both his frames to earn a share of the spoils, firstly defeating Dan 60-30 and then beating Rob 56-20.

Cube & Triangle opened their season off with a useful 4-2 win over Lincoln Snooker Club G, Karl Clayton opened the scoring with a 47-27 victory over Michele D’Ascoli. Oli Shmidt made it 1-1 when he came from behind to beat Gary Chambers 65-58. Dan Chambers started the fightback when he defeated George Lorenti 61-45. The fightback continued when Jack Belton just getting the better of his opponent Michael Stacey 63-52. Mark Gibbons pulled a frame back for the Lincoln Snooker Club and with a good break of 32 he defeated Marley Clayton 57-3. The final frame saw Karl complete the victory with a 49-28 win over George. New comers to the league Hykeham C, it was nice to see Cyril Green playing back again after a long time away from the league. Their first match was at home against Moorlands & Railway B. Duncan McDonald opened the scoring for the Moorlands when he defeated Jim Walters 51-40. Peter Jenson for Hykeham opened his account with an excellent win, defeating Andy Campbell 89-7. Hykeham went into the lead for the first time when Robert Babb had a good result against Phil Burnett winning 58-37. Scott Simpson played two consecutive frames for the Moorlands, firstly beating Paul Lonsdale 59-13 and then with a break of 30 in his 63-7 win over Cyril. The final frame saw Peter making it two wins from two on the night 58-16 against Andy Riggall. Castle Ward B played well in their away game against Lincoln Snooker Club H. James Byrne put the home side one up when he came from behind to win a black ball frame 43-40 against Ken Hill. Matt Strickson levelled the scores at 1-1 when he played very well defeating Dave Poucher 53-9. Craig Wallace made it 2-1 to Castle Ward when he just got the better of Leigh Blades 53-43. After his earlier defeat, Ken Hill defeated Tom Boyle 55-29. Matt made it two wins from two when he defeated Tom 68-40. The final frame saw James win another close encounter winning another black ball frame 40-34 against Craig.
