Woodhall Spa Con Club Continue Perfect Start with Dominant win.
Woodhall Spa Con Club maintained their perfect start to the season, making it two wins from two and sitting comfortably with 11 points. Their latest fixture saw them record an emphatic 6-1 victory over Lincoln Snooker Club C, new entrants to the Spec & Fix Premier League.
Jamie Turner set the tone for the evening with a 62-13 win over Matt Todd in the opening frame. Dan Burt followed up with a solid 63-34 victory against Paul Bean, giving Woodhall Spa an early 2-0 lead.
Paul Bean bounced back in his second frame, defeating Kristian Willetts 59-27 to give the visitors their only frame of the evening.
However, the momentum quickly returned to the home side. Jamie Turner and Matt Todd faced off once more in the fourth frame, with Turner securing his second win of the night, 58-36. Dan Burt continued his fine form, easing past Brian Lawson 85-20 in the fifth frame, before Kristian Willetts made up for his earlier loss with a 51-23 win over Lawson.
The final frame saw Jamie Turner and Matt Todd meet for the third time, and Turner completed a hat-trick of wins, cruising to a 48-11 victory to seal the 6-1 result.
Lincoln Snooker Club B Impress in Opening Win Against Belvedere Club
Lincoln Snooker Club B began their season in strong fashion, defeating The Belvedere Club (formerly the Con Club) 5-2 in their opening match.
New signing Matt Ransome made an immediate impact, winning both his frames against Matt Bavin with scores of 84-25 and 59-36, putting Lincoln 2-0 ahead.
Calum Baptist extended the lead to 4-0, producing breaks of 45 and 39 in his two comfortable wins over Dale Schofield, 75-12 and 62-39 respectively.
The Belvedere Club pulled two frames back late on. Adam Sears defeated Chris Robinson 71-48, and Dave Jobling followed up with a 68-38 win over the same opponent, making it 4-2.
However, the final frame of the evening saw a dominant performance from Newark’s Rob Hall, who delivered a 100-0 whitewash against Glenn Foster.

Castle Ward A collected maximum points away at Hykeham A. The reliable Adrian Bunn started the ball rolling for Castle Ward when he won a black ball frame 51-44 against Rob Chapman. Tim Dunn made it 2-0 when he defeated Gary Beardsley 60-32. Adrian and Rob returned to play each other again in the third frame and yet again it was another close frame and the result went the same way as their previous frame with Adrian coming from behind to beat Rob 54-52. Tim played his second frame and he played league Chairman Steve Robinson. It was a close frame but it was Tim who held out to win 44-34. The final two frames saw Castle Wards Adam Petty play Dan May in the fifth frame and he played very well to defeat Dan 53-24. Adam completed the whitewash with a 51-27 victory over Steve.
Lincoln Snooker Club E were the other winners in the Lincoln Security Snooker League when they defeated the other Hykeham Side 4-2. Mark Taylor opened the scoring firstly defeating Mike Morrison 56-25 and then beating Mark Handford 59-45. Tristan Fussey opened Hykeham’s scoring when he beat Jack Withers 58-14. Jack made amends and was straight back on the table defeating Mike 61-37. Andy Gill played the two remaining frames for the Lincoln Snooker Club side, however he lost his first frame 38-71 against Mark. In his second frame he just got the better of Tristan winning 56-47. Lincoln Snooker Club D drew 3-3 with Moorlands & Railway A. Trev Porter took the opening frame when he came from behind to beat George Barrett on the black 36-35. Adam Hanson levelled the scores with a very good performance defeating John Rice 65-19. Liam Shasby put the Moorlands back in front when he defeated Phil Cross 53-32. Back came the Lincoln Snooker Club taking the next two frames. Justin Hunt won a black ball decider 58-52 against Nathan Shasby and Stu Cannings beat Trev 56-12. Liam played his second frame and he also won a black ball decider 52-47 against Stu to earn a share of the spoils. The Lincoln Academy side also drew 3-3 when they played away at Lincoln Snooker Club F. After being away from the game for several years Neil Hall played his first frame winning 61-22 against Jacob. James Lilley levelled the scores playing very well to defeat Glyn Weston 70-29. Glenn Blewitt put the home side back in front when he beat Daniel Sherman 64-33. John Griffith extended the home teams lead when he beat Oli Bishell 53-30. Last Season’s Young Player of the Year, Jayden Hunt continued his good form defeating Steve Jakes 84-11, Steve was also making a comeback after a lengthy spell away from the game. The final frame saw James level the match at 3-3 with a comfortable 72-7 win over Neil.

The homes side all collected 4-2 victories. Castle Ward B who struggled last season have found some good form this season winning the opening two frames 4-2 and are one point clear at the top of the George Barrett Snooker League. Their latest victory was at home to Hykeham C. Matt Strickson opened the scoring with a 53-27 win over Peter Jenson. Robert Babb has made a good start to the season for Hykeham and he continued his good form with a 74-3 win over Craig Wallace. Andy Nicols put Castle Ward back in front with a 59-36 victory over Cyril Green. Craig made amends for his earlier defeat when he got the better of Paul Lonsdale 48-36. Matt played his second frame of the evening and he made it two wins on the night when he defeated Steve Bailey 46-36. Peter Jenson for Hykeham gained his sides other point when he beat Andy Nichol 48-15.
The two Lincoln Snooker sides played each other with the G team being the home side. Ollie Schmidt put the Lincoln Snooker Club G one up when he beat Leigh Blades (Chef Ramsey) 44-19. James Byrne levelled the scores when he came from behind to win a black ball frame 48-47. Michele D’Ascoli put the home side back in front defeating Tom Boyle 38-28. George Lorenti extended his team further in front when he inflicted the second defeat of the evening on Chef Ramsey 46-25. Josh Hackney made sure of a home win when he defeated Tom 51-39. The final frame went to the away side when he James beat Michael 53-13.
Moorlands & Railway B were the other home team to taste victory when they beat Cube & Triangle 4-2. Gary Chambers put the Cube one up when he just got the better of Andy Campbell 48-38. The Moorlands hit back and took the next three frames. Andy Riggall made it 1-1 defeating Marley Clayton 49-36. Scott Simpson restored the lead for the Moorlands with a performance defeating Jack Belton 47-16. Duncan MacDonald put in a good display beating Dan Chambers 50-8. Karl Clayton pulled a frame back for the Cube when he defeated Kev Betts 55-39. The final frame saw Scott win hiws second frame of the night when he beat Dan 54-31.
