Lincoln Snooker Club A take over the top spot of the Spec & Fix Premier Snooker league after a 5-2 home win over Woodhall Spa. Jamie Turner put the away side one up with an excellent 69-2 win over Gavin Whittle. Matt Ransome then played Jamie Turner and levelled the scores with 75-28 win. Matt then faced Dan Burt and soon put the Lincoln Snooker Club side in front winning 65-0. It wasn’t a good night for Dan as he faced Gavin in his next frame and Gavin recorded a break of 79 in his 110-0 victory. Gavin then followed that up with a 72-10 win over Marc Pickworth with the help of a 37 break. Marc played Jamie Barker in his second frame and won that 40-16, Jamie completed the victory with a 58-6 win over Dan. Despite this defeat Woodhall Spa remain in second place with a slender one point lead over Newark Con Club. Newark Con Club were at home to Lincoln Snooker Club B and won five of the seven points. Dale Schofield played the opening two frames, firstly defeating Rick Epton 65-7 with a break of 49 and then with a 88-11 win over Callum Baptist. Calum’s second frame was against Matt Bavin, but Matt took the frame 65-23. Rick returned to the table in the fourth frame also playing Matt. Rick gained his teams first win of the night with a 62-28 victory over Matt. Home team Captain Rob Hall played the fifth frame also against Rick and made it 4-1 winning 57-10. The two remaining frames were played by Dave Jobling against Glenn Foster, Dave took the first frame 65-21 and Glenn then took the final frame 51-42. The final match was also a 5-2 home win when Lincoln Snooker Club C defeated their D team. Victories for Justin Hunt, Adam Hanson, Phil Cross, James Lilley and Stu Cannings, with Simon Mower and Chris Robinson for the D team. Nice to See Lee Applewhite returning after his accident.
Lincoln Security Snooker League 1
Castle Ward A lead the Lincoln Security league 1 table after a 4-2 away win over Lincoln Snooker Club F. Rob Reeves took the opening frame 44-35 against Brian Lawson. Nick McCauley levelled the scores when he defeated Adam Petty 54-43. Castle Ward then took the next three frames which saw victories for Adrian Bunn who won his two frames and recorded a break of 28 against James Durance and Tim Dunn. Nick took the remaining frame 45-25 against Tim. Hykeham B collected maximum points away to Castle Ward B Dave Croft, Darren Edwards and Tristan Fussey were the victors. Hykeham A entertained Lincoln Snooker Club E Rob Chapman with a break of 29 in his 58-49 win over Steve Burnett, Steve also had a break of 25. Steve followed this up with a break of 35 in his second frame against Rob winning 63-35. Andy Gill put the away side 2-1 up when he defeated Dave Coutts 67-37. The home side hit back and took the remaining frames, Gary Beardsley defeated Andy 76-30 and then 58-26 against Anthony Liddell. Dan May completed the victory with a 61-36 win against Anthony.
George Barrett Snooker League 2
Moorlands & Railway B are the leaders of the George Berrett League 2 by just one point over Lincoln Snooker Academy side, these two teams meet next week which should be an interesting match up. The Moorlands side were away to the Cube & Triangle and Kev Betts put the away side one up when he defeated J. Belton 56-20. Gary Chambers with a break of 27 levelled the scores when he beat Duncan MacDonald 56-23. Andy Campbell restored the away sides lead with a 45-17 victory over Dan Chambers. Scott Simpson with a break of 29 in his 58-5 over Marley Clayton and then Scott beat Karl Clayton 45-34 for a 4-1 lead. Gary then played his second frame and made it 2-4 defeating Andy Riggall 39-26. The young Academy side entertained the Lincoln Snooker Club G side and they didn’t hang about racing into a 4-0 lead which saw victories for Jayden Hunt, Jacob Louca, Daniel Sherman and Brandon Staples who recorded a 25 break in his 45-38 win over Joe Jackson. The Home side didn’t have it all their own way and the Snooker Club side took the two remaining frames. Mark Gibbons defeated Oli Bagnall 51-21 which was followed by Joe beating Oli Bishell 59-45. Moorlands & Railway A recorded their first win of the season defeating Lincoln Snooker Club H 5-1. Josh Weaver played very well in the opening frame when he defeated Tom Cutten 78-12. Jim Byrne also played well and he levelled the scores with a 83-33 victory over Nathan Shasby. John Rice won a black ball decider 56-48 against Tom Boyle and Josh won his second frame of the night when he beat Leigh Blades 53-16. Nathan faired better in his second frame when he won a close encounter defeating Ray Reid 49-40. John also won his second frame 49-25 against George Lorenti to complete the victory.
